AN important date for your diary – be advised that the Black Panther’s annual kickboxing show takes place at the Green Isle Hotel on Sunday, 2 May (doors open 6pm; first fight 7pm).
Last year’s inaugural event sold out and the upcoming May bank holiday show is likely to sell-out, too. So if you want a ticket, we strongly recommend that you buy one now.
An AKAI-approved event, Black Panther powerhouse Richard Kiely (pictured below left) tops the bill when he faces Toby Freeman from the Pegasus Aylesbury Gym in England over four two-minute rounds in an international bout.
Also on the fight card is Black Panther’s WKA PRO-AM world champion Rebecca Dillon (pictured below right), who takes on Norway’s Camilla Johansen in another international contest, also over four two-minute rounds.
The 22-year-old Johansen, who is a member of the Sentrum Kickboxing Club in Oslo, was runner-up in the Norwegian national championships at -52 kilos on Saturday, 17 April, 2010.
She is from Brummundal in Norway.
There are several fights on the undercard, too, so you are guaranteed value for money and a great night’s entertainment.
Doors open at 6pm and the first of the fights is scheduled for 7pm.
Tickets are priced €15 in advance, or €20 on the night.
Also, for those of you who fancy making a real night of it, the club has agreed a double room fight-night special rate with the Green Isle Hotel, www.greenislehotel.com/kickboxing.html, which also includes two tickets for the show.
Check under the ‘special offers’ section.
Again, act now, before it’s too late!
