Rebecca Dillon and Richard Kiely both won in Norway tonight (Saturday, 8 May).
Rebecca beat Julia Jakko of Sverige Kickboxingklubb (Sweden) in a 52kg contest on a unanimous verdict.
Rebecca, fresh from her impressive victory over Camilla Johansen at the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin last Sunday (2 May), had too much for her opponent and ran out a comfortable winner, getting the verdict of all three judges in the process.
Rebecca unloaded some really impressive combinations and one or two of her trademark foot sweeps, and had Jakko down on the canvas at one point.
Richard (pictured left) also recorded a unanimous points win in beating Petter Solberg of Drammen Kickboxingklubb (Norway) in an 86kg contest.
Richard’s stunning array of kicks was too much for Solberg, and he also used his hands to good effect, too.
Rebecca and Richard were part of a six-strong AKAI Irish selection that made the trip to Norway.
The Irish team recorded four wins, with Christine McMahon and John Feane also winning.
Trish Roddy and Toby Bermuller both lost.
Congratulations to the Irish team on doing so well, and to Rebecca and Richard in particular.
